This 1927 paperback book appears to have been The J. R. Watkin's Company attempt to introduce and educate American cooks to the existence of and possibilities of adding spices to their recipes. The book discusses the various kinds of spices around the world and how they are grown and harvested and used in cooking. There are many photographs showing how spices are brought to market. There are some recipes though this is not primarily a cook book, more an informational book. It was given to potential customers to build interest in using the Watkins spice products. This copy is in very good condition with minor wear. Original protective tissue front and back in place.
